Boxx
A mobile app built around the messaging side of a job search, for candidates and the people hiring them.
The goal
The client wanted an app for the communications side of a job search, as more of that conversation moves online. Signing in had to be quick, using accounts people already hold. Messages had to arrive as they are sent rather than on a refresh. And the app had to keep its own copy of data on the device rather than fetch everything each time.
How it works
The app is built with Ionic and Capacitor in TypeScript, so one codebase covers both stores. People sign in through Facebook, Apple or Google, and the Facebook integration can bring their contacts with them. Messages run over SignalR so they land without a refresh, with Twilio integrated alongside. A local SQLite database holds data on the device. The API is ASP.NET Core over PostgreSQL, hosted on Azure.
